Filling in the cowl vent question?

I have been looking at different mods I want to make to my Demon but needs some info on this one:

Can you fill in the vented section of the cowl with solid metal without affecting anything else?

I plan on using an after market AC/Heater set up from vintage air and wanted to know if the vented cowl has to be kept.

Has anyone every filled this area for a more smooth look?

you could but remember the stock setup gets all of it's air from there you will have to compensate but bringing air in from another place. Also if you have any pull open vents this is where the air comes from as well.
