FINALLY GOT IT BACK!

-
This is my original 50 year old back seat. It has never been sat on! My body man has not seen it yet. I told him it was in good condition!

I believe the tach, clock, performance indicator (vacuum gauge),or blank spot were all optional on the 340 rallye dash.

After much anxiety I sent my instruments to have speedometer rebuilt and gauges checked.i gave strick instructions not to touch the odometer for any reason. With 462 miles I can live with the numbers even if not perfectly white! I can’t wait to get this car to 500 miles!!!

So I have a question. Why will it cost you a lot of money to get it registered? Is it because of N/Y laws... because you don't have an original title? You have all of the paper work from when your dad bought it new. I'm from Ohio so I guess I don't understand why? I'm sure here it would still be a 1971 Duster so you would not get a NEW car title. Maybe a rebuilders title but with all of the documentation I'm not even sure about that. I would love to see that car some day. Nice job your doing. Keep up the great work!

I never said it would cost a lot to register. Not really sure. If I have to pay tax on what dad bought it for, I’m good with that! Lol what part of Ohio are you from? I’m going racing in Thompson Ohio this Saturday

Oh, Okay I must have misunderstood something in a post. Man, I wish I could go this weekend but I have so much work to do on my house and barn I don't think it will be done this year. Thanks for the invite. I'll keep checking in. I really want to see that Duster :)

LOL, Yeah Thompson is about an hour and half drive from me. I have been there a few times. I'm down south in Hartville, Ohio. Many years ago I ran there but I left drag racing for dirt track. Drag racing just cost too much money without a sponsorship. Now dirt cars are crazy money. Go figure.

Drag racing expensive?

LMAO!

Rent a mini van and go rounds.
Done!

Picked up the front seat that was in storage for 39 years last night. Little did I know 50!years ago when dad was so picky about everything, that I would be the beneficiary all this time later! The original front seat cleaned up really nice!

Looking fantastic and it's a real time capsule. Was it an original rally wheel car or a dog dish?
