Finally got my 360 magnum with Trick Flow heads running.

I understood that but I wasn't good at repeating it LOL I was trying to convey to yellow rose that I don't think your timing box retarded the timing that much.. maybe a couple few degrees but not that much...
My son is Power Wagon was the same way.. I put a 360 out of a 75 in his 76 and for whatever reason the timing just didn't jive well with the timing gun but when I said it by feel and it ran way better it was like 52 or something like that when I rechecked it with the timing light..
I'm not sure if the balancer was off or what the deal was or the timing gear or what but it was what it was and it is what it is...
Hey no problems. Well the timing Mark's could be off. I put on a brand new PRW race SFI Aproved balancer before I got it running.
 

With all the sparkplugs out you probably could turn the motor over by hand and visually see if the piston is at tdc or not if it is 14 degrees off.
 
I would make sure that the polarity is correct for the MSD pickup for your ignition box. And also verify TDC and your timing marks
