The drivers side back bolt on the k-frame was spinning loose... rotted frame rail. So, they just welded the k-frame to the rail. Yay.
Yes, this is the same car that they welded the back of the torsion bar in.
With how dirty it was, I'm convinced someone drove this car this way.

What little bit that shows in that pic....don't sand blast it!

Torch, sawz-all, beer and profanity is all it takes to remove anything.
The beer still flows but I stopped the profanity a good while back....never did use it very often anyway but less now.

ha seen worse then that on the road .....
nothing a couple of pop rivots couldn't fix
if it was a hemi car someone would fix it

Where does Wisconsin place in the in Rust Ranking category of the MRC (Most Rotten Car) State League. It's certainly in the top five. Historically it has held First Place at different times. I have always been impressed by the great efforts you all make to allow a specimen like this qualify as something resembling a car or car-like entity as defined by the decision of the panel of referees, the officiating body of the MRC State League.

Are you sure that K is safe?
From what I've seen it looks OK but I haven't cleaned it up yet. Anything off this car really needs to be checked over. I probably won't use it as I have a complete '74 BBP setup to go in my '67 notch project.

Wisconsin is definitely in the top 3. I've seen more than one gas tank held up with ratchet straps/bungie cords/bailing wire/duct tape. I will not confirm or deny ever driving one of those vehicles.

You think the K frame is usable or is it done?

That's what we're missing on this forum! A most rotten car thread. The car in the OP just might have a shot. lol

They do that on i think bring a trailer
I seen a documentary on someone restoring one of the first vw buses they must have had 10,000 HRS on this thing
Who has the time or $$$ for that
Is it worth over 1,000,000 when done ?

I did cut into it a bit but it looks ok to me, maybe weld in that little notch I cut into it. I haven't cleaned it up or looked at the rest of it yet. The weld was just on the outside edge. I don't know if that notch would be enough to make it scrap?
