Well, after our last spirited drive, "The Boss" told me the car is running better than ever, and I had to "get some f'ing brakes on this thing!" So, obviously I had no choice but to heed her command.

Been eyeballing this Wilwood 11023 kit for awhile and finally pulled the trigger. Will be running new lines front to back, new master cylinder and rebuild rear drums.

Cleaned the garage and got the car in the air, plan on digging into the project after Christmas. I'll post pics and details as things progress.

Be well and happy holidays everyone!

                Hey folks,

Starting to dig into the project. Thanks to some input from fellow FABO members I was able to procure most of the necessary components for the job. Pulled off the front drums, de-greased and took off the rust from the Spindles, CA's etc. Then hit them with a few coats of POR15. Nothing show quality here, just protecting parts.

Gonna remove the old MC and Brake Lines front to back this weekend. And start bolting on the Front Disc kit. Will update with more pics and trials/tribulations and things progress.

                Be well,
                Pat

                Hey Folks,

Got the adapter brackets mounted onto the drum spindles today. Other than drilling out a threaded bolt hole to 1/2 inch (pointing to in in pic 1) and using a floor jack to load the suspension in order to line up the holes for the steering linkage, no fuss no muss.

Used the rim to hold the hubs in place so I could get the 70lbs torque required.

I must say, this has been one of the simplest, straightforward mods I've done so far. My first impressions are very favorable !

I hope it stays simple .
I'm interested to see if your wheels fit on when the calipers are mounted .
                  Good job.

Me too! I'm guessing the 15" Centerlines will clear everything, but keeping my fingers crossed. I'll find out in a day or two. Will posted up the results.

Thanks man. While I guessed they'd clear, it's always comforting to get 1st hand, real world, feedback. That's what I wanted to hear!

That's not too comforting having the "1st hand dude" that swears his Centerline's fit fine, - deletes his post.

                        Fingers crossed.

You'll enjoy the braking difference with the Wilwood disc brakes, I have Wilwood manual discs on all four corners of my bracket car & the braking is excellent. Your Centerlines should fit with no problems, I've had those & Prostars on my car with no fitment issues.

And if they don't fit? Then what?

Then I sell the Centerlines and find different rims that fit.

Hey folks, just another quick update. Got the hub assemblies torqued to spec and loctited. Froze my a$$ off in the garage but got the calipers mounted. Test fit the Centerlines which fit with room to spare. The hardest thing of the whole installation was torquing the Torx head bolts to spec. Two trips the the store and 4 trashed T40 bits later, I got it done. LOL!

Will do the master cylinder swap later this week.

                              Be well folks,
                              Pat

Ya, I guess the old MC has seen better days. The new MC and Brake Lines are definitely long overdue!
