Was bored today so I went and picked up the race car for some fun. Went out just driving around and killing time. Stopped at a red light with an open lane next to me and I see a bright orange 392 challenger in my rearview. He pulls up to the line and said something (I cant hear squat with the engine running) I just got the feeling he was gonna try me. I didn't get on the 2 step or line lock, just looked around for the cops, didn't see any so.... Light goes green and I hammer it. Wide open... i hear his car (my car?) chirp the tires but i never seen him till i back off the throttle, he went around me doing I don't know 70 MPH? I think he was pissed! He just got his ass drug by a "rusty old POS"!! Not a lot on the street that has anything for my 4.88s and slicks... Happy new year!!!
It feels great! That's one of the first cars I've lined up against that I thought may have something for me. I built this car for one thing. Street racing, not the "street racing" you see on TV but real, old school, stoplight street racing. so it was nice to be out front. It's a little vindication for all my hard work and money spent.
You were half his size, maybe less? The new Challengers all look bloated to me, especially compared to the real ones.
I love when new challengers/chargers get in the lanes next to me. They're cool but damn are they slow.. hellcat/demon excluded of course.
I know that day will come but it wasn't today. I know there's some fast cars sneaking around here but most aren't purpose built for 60' to 300' I'm still smiling ear to ear.
Jpar knows my car, he know all the work that's gone into it. It's an all new street killing machine wrapped in a old rusty dart body. THANKS JPAR!
I followed your build, but I wouldn't concede to you like j par has, by disagreeing with my previous post. lol
fun to have fun…. you ever gonna take a 1/4 pass and see what it will do? P.S - those Scat Packs (392's) will move.... with traction high 11's. Problem is, they don't hook worth a snot. I've seen too many that can't hook on a well prepped track.
