i don't see any timing marks on the timing chain cover for this 225 motor I got from a 70 Dart which will go into my 68 Valiant. Where are the timing marks supposed to be? I thought they should be on the timing chain cover, but they aren't.

I think all slants had a steel timing tab spot welded on the timing chain cover. It is on the driver's side in my 1964 (~68 engine I recall). I can't really tell if it is spot welded without a lot of work. I think you used to be able to buy after-market chrome timing covers, so shouldn't be hard to find another timing cover to install later.

In my 72 225 If you are looking at the engine look to the left side down and thats were mine is at.
