Why does the group have such a difficult time programming the fuel injection, timing, etc. parameters for his 1955 Blasphemi race car?

MSD, Accel, etc. has been around since all the Rob’s on here were young.

It seems like even a baseline program based off of the parameters that they know should do better than the group did for the first two (?or three?) 1/4 mile runs they attempted in competition.

What is so difficult dialing in their launch and street driving?

Was it that bent pin?
The driveshaft speed sensor?

Why did they struggle so much to dial in their programming?

i thonk one thing is they throw the car togehter and go to an event without any real testing.. they try to figure it out on the fly.. i'm not a fan of that friont suspension looks wise..
 

My favorite part is when they deviated from the event, went to a local dyno to tune the car, and the dyno computer said they had 34,368 and then 28,000 horsepower going 2091mph. I know it was just an input error but everyone in our culture is so obsessed with chasing that up number it really struck me as funny.

Yes I never appreciated the raised front end ‘gasser’ look. I enjoy the cars, especially the effort, but like you, not the look.
 
I haven’t seen those videos yet, but I’ve seen enough of Finnegans channel to believe that he learned the value of “drama” from his days on TV, and a lot can be done in the editing. I mean, how entertaining is it to watch something that goes perfectly smooth?
