I started building the fire wall and trunk floor bracing. got a lot more to go but its a good start.

Thanks for all your time and advice.

you guys that can do this "fancy" stuff are amazing to me. I can barely do "backyard" fabrication. This stuff is all magic.

it dont look like a lot of work but it was. We are gonna cut the body into chunks and make the entire body removable with quick release pins, so none of the bracing can connect to the body. It has flat stock that follows the curves of the body and is only welded to the frame. The trick is getting the bracing super tight to the body yet still letting the body come off.
The pannels will be aluminum and copper sheet, aircraft rivited and bead rolled. Its gonna pass NHRA tech AND look dam good doing it.

Thanks again and have a great day!

Got some more backing in for the aluminum panels.
Again it don't look like much but dam it took some grinding to make the backing fit just right. I started with a poster board template, then plasma cut the steel, then grind and sharpie till it fits just right.
The funny thing is, no one will ever see the bracing or backing but I know it's done right...

Soon the real fun can start!

May start making and rolling panels tomarrow.

Enjoy!

Pops wanted to try his hand with the rivet gun, slipped off and wrecked the inlay.. oh well this is all just practice. The final panels will be brushed aluminum with copper inlay.
Enjoy!
