First Harley - Sportster - on a whim

-
You can get custom seats and fat bob tanks. Half the world will never know it's a Sportster. One things for sure. That 1200 is a lot of engine for a light bike. Just hit the throttle and leave them hecklers at the stop light in the dust. Don't forget. This thing was "Technically" a Sportster. I'd give just about anything for one.

would love one of those

I found out the "5" on the tank emblem is announcing the 5 speed transmission upraded from the previous 4 speed.

I'm researching protective gear now. I had thought I'd get a half or 3/4 helmet to go with the retro bike but after reading "Proficient Motorcyling" which has a lot of sobering crash stats, I'm inclined to go full face modular type. One benefit I see is I will be less likely to want a windshield. Also looking at other protective gear.

Nice bike, enjoy the ride. Price wise, you got a good deal.
Most of the girls I know ride 74 inch shovel heads (kick start bikes).
Sportsters were named for what they were designed for sport riding
a fast light weight motorcycle. Used for flat track racing , hill climbing,
and big show jumps. Watch any of the old late sixties Hells Angels movies
and count the sportsters. Go tell one them he is riding a girls bike . LMAO....
