My son purchased his first muscle car, 22 years old. 1972 dart swinger with a slant six.

We have browsed this site, it basically told us everything we needed to do, to put in a 360.
Some cussin, but all in all, not bad for non mechanics.
So thank you all who shared on this site.
We started with a slant six, he wanted a v8 rumble.

I found a 1972 truck 360 for him for $300 bucks from a friend, the crate motor had 20 miles on it. Friend went to military and it sat for 10 years. We took it apart, turned over really easy, so we went with it.
The trans dapt slant six to 360 mounts made it easy, fell right into place.
Bought another 72 dart for parts, had a 905 tranny in it. Now we just have to remember where a couple of the wires went, and get the coil and distributer wired right.
One note, I measured the stance on the car with the slant six, from floor to fender well , it was 26", after we put in the 360 and all the fluids, it measured 26 1/4".

Welcome. It's looking good. That was a great deal on that engine.

Nice ride!

Did you put in V8 torsion bars?

The torsion bars from the slant six and 318 parts car are the same, so we did not yet.
He will have to baby it for now because he will be running the 7 1/4 rear. We will watch everything closely.
