Trying to start up my 74 Duster for the first time. Installed a freshened 318, and no crank or spark. Does the dash need to be all hooked up? I'm thinking maybe ammeter connections...?

Thanks,
Chris

If you are still running the stock wiring routing, then yes, the amp gauge needs to be hooked up. The main power runs through it.

You can just connect the 2 leads together if all you want to do is a temporary connection just to start and run it.

Yes, as above, just bolt the eyelets red and black together AND BE CAREFUL AND TAPE THEM because there IS NO FUSE AND A LOT OF CURRENT on tap there. (There is the fuse link but that is no guarantee!!!)

Red comes in from the battery, black is the loads in the car and goes out to the alternator. They are both HOT!!
