In the middle of a floor shift column conversion. I can not remember how the little key release spring is oriented. This is the spring that attaches the lower collar to the jacket and the spring rests on a little rubber block.

Which end goes where? There's a straight end and a hook on the spring. There's a slot in the jacket and a post on the collar, just can't remember the exact position. No pics in the FSM that I can see.

Pics are great but a suitable description works to. Thanks!

Well, I answered my own question. I put it in like I thought it should be - hook end of the spring on the post, straight end into hole on the column jacket. Works correctly.

Pic below if anyone might need this in the future.

Thanks for answering your own question - now I know where that pesky little spring I still have on my work bench goes! Too bad I didn't figure it out before I put the whole column back together.
