Is there such a thing as a flushmount gasket (think modern car) for the '70's A-bodies? Or any other way to eliminate the polished trim around the front and rear windows? I've seen the material in rolls but don't know if it'll work w/ the stock channel on the Scamp. Any input from anybody who's deleted the stainless would be appreciated!!!

as far as I know, the newer windshields that are flush-mounted sit on the windshield frame with a bead of bedding between the metal and glass. An older style windshield is just a tad bit smaller than the actual opening and the rubber kind of holds it suspended in place. Maybe I'm missing what you are asking though....

That's my understanding too. Looking for a product that fits the stock channel and holds the stock glass w/o the metal trim.

Late models that use the flush molding have glass that fits pretty close to the body, not much more than a 3/16 or so gap. Without the rubber molding vintage glass would have a fairly large gap between the glass and the body. I can't think of any late moldings I've seen that would work with a very large gap. If you can find something that will work, I would think you would need to set the glass with urethane like a late model and pay close attention to the 'depth' you set the glass to get your molding to lay down right.
Be sure and post 'before, during, and after' pics if you do it.

Yeah I don't think I can pull anything off of a late model, I was just hoping that enough people didn't like polished/chrome trim that someone would have made a product that would work :-) There will definitely be pics of whatever happens - one way or another, it won't be shiny!
