Flywheel size....

Quick question, will the 10.4" and the 11" clutch and flywheel both fit the same tranny or is one made for one tranny and the other for a different one? Basiclly what Iam asking is what is the differance? Im running a A-833 w/ 360 in a 69 Valiant. thanks, Dennis.

bell housing for the 11" is bigger than the one for 10.5

both will fit 1" input shaft w/ 23 splines

You can run an 11 in scalloped pressure plate( some refer to it as a 10.95) and disc in a 10.5 bellhousing and pressure plate. You may have to grind clearance for the pressure plate at the starter nose boss inside the bell housing.

Do you have a casting number? It is probably 10.5. Off the top, I don't think small blocks came with an 11 in clutch from the factory.

Well I went to see if the 11" would fit, with the flywheel bolted to the 360 the bellhousing will not clear. Has anyone done the grinding to the bell to make the 11" flywheel fit, and if so will the starter even fit??

Even if you could grind enough material out, the starter won't fit. You need to get the correct flywheel and clutch.
