Anyone running a ford 3g alternator in their car or know of anyone who has? I've been toying around with the idea if swapping one into my car to eliminate the external voltage regulator. They're easy enough to work with and pretty well designed alternators my past experience with swapping them into things has been great. I doesn't hurt that I have 3 of them kicking around my garage and they're easy to come by in junkyards in working condition. It wouldn't be my first time doing this I upgraded a '78 bronco I used to have from an externally regulated 1G unit to a 3G an rewired to match, for under $60 I got 3 tested good alternators an 2 years later the first one was still going great. I'm just curious if there are any good internally regulated mopar alts that I could find with similar availability and good output around the yards? Looking at using a ferd refugee as more of a convenience thing than anything, since I already know their wiring.
