I'm in the market for a formula s badge for the right fender of my 65 barracuda

Others may know better than me as its been a couple years since I looked for S badges for my '65 FS. The S badges are being reproduced, however I've read that the mounting pins are off 90 degrees from the original. Evidently the later S cars used the same badge but the holes were rotated 90 degrees on the fender. I believe they are usable if you drill two new holes in your fender(s) to accept them. Hopefully someone will chime in to clarify, all the best with your project, that's a nice FS you have there.

MR-65FORMS, $69.00 each, Formula "S" Reproduction Fender Emblem. Original part number was # 2579 442. Tabs are in horizontal position when installing......

65 Emblems mount on a curved section on the fender, so that emblem is unique.
For 66 67 and 68 they mount on a pretty flat section of the fender.
I think Layson's has the correct 65 emblem.
And yes the mount studs are different for the 65 emblem.

Laysons are as close to new as youll find but the silver ring is radially machine finished on the originals, ie there is an aligned grain to it, like a satin Centerline finish. Could possibly get that finish if you took a 600 grit and wiped the ring in a circular motion? Hard to take anything to a new $69 emblem though.
