How does that work... I have a 2/17 build date but an earlier serial number. 298xxx.

I have a block that cast 7-1-70 but a
build date of May-6-71, Vin 1B391***

Your cast date is even further out, your cast date on the block is before his but your build is after. I would think his build date would be march or april.

My block was .020 from the factory so I think it got set aside and fixed at a later date, then put in a car.

I quess that's the casting date where can I find the build date

In front under the left head, it's a julian date code so it would have to be looked up on a calculator, just list all the # on the front

That's also a Mounds Rd engine..... so it should be Corporate Blue.
