I drive everything I own and I think most folks on this forum do to. But if someone else wants theirs to stay in garage trailered to from shows, if that what makes them happy, their car, have at it enjoy as long as they are happy.

If someone just wants to bomb around in a beater of a car, why belittle the dude? If the car poses no threat to others, why not let the guy have his fun?

Maybe so.
Look, I can understand a man of higher standards wanting to see these beautiful cars being driven as if they just rolled off the transport truck. I'd like that too. Restoration costs of $70,000 to 100,000 can scare off most enthusiasts, especially when the finished car may only have a market value of $40,000. If I see people with plenty of money driving the same old beat up car without ever attempting to improve the condition, that may be different.
I don't know anyone like that though. I know a few high rollers that have show winning cars and I know some low dollar-blue collar guys that have fast running cars that look abandoned. Me? I'm in the middle. I have one nice car that has won a few trophies and some cars that definitely fit the Roadkill vibe except for having working gauges. All of the cars are fun to drive and I like them all for different reasons.

David Freiburger seems like a good guy I'd have no problem hanging out with. The cars they cobble together are a little suspect and I be cautious riding in them LOL!!!

There aren't even enough muscle car guys around anymore to care about stuff like that. Back in the day I only remember Mopar guys waving to me when I drove my Duster around. Now it's everyone from Ford to Chevy to VW. I think we all respect the work that goes into these things regardless of the badge on the front or the condition of the car. The fact that someone is into the hobby is good enough for me.

Those guy's are paid to hack together cars that's their job it's called Road kill for that reason . I bet if was called trailer Queens they could do that also . They built a really nice Rod maybe a 32 ford that ran 8's first time out . They do what there paid to do just like any working man .

These 2 guys are a couple of hacks with some one else's credit card...and most folks act like they are some sort of car gurus...just like that bird turd guy. They are hacks, the quality of the work is like orange county choppers...poor at best. Wait for the accident

It’s sad you feel that way. But I understand if all you have been exposed to is the roadkill tv show. Both Freiburger and Finnegan (and Dulcich if that’s who you were referring to by “these two guys”) are very knowledgeable and have built stuff that far exceeds the level of garbage on the tv show. Blasphemi, F Rod, any of Finn’s boats, his 61 caddy, crusher Camaro, (just to name a few) are all very nice and well sorted vehicles. Throwing stuff together and bombing it down the road is what they like to do and made a good living doing it while filming roadkill. For you to put them down without knowing a complete history of their background is kinda shameful. And “birdturd” as you call him (birdsong I assume) does some of nicest restoration metal work Ive ever seen. Just not on his own junk.

Checkbook restoration guys will often put out some manner of persona that claims to be above all the hack nonsense while in truth, they have neither the skills nor the guts to put a car together. Some of these snobs can’t tune a carburetor, adjust a timing curve or diagnose a misfire.

15k is too much for that car. I'm sure mechanically its mostly sorted out, he has driven it on Power Tour and else where. Car needs a lot of things, nobody is spending that kind of money restoring a plane 6 cyl Duster. He made some money on and I say, good for him. He is a knowledgeable guy and they got paid to throw this stuff together and go beat the snot out of them and, for that I say, good for him.

To put this into perspective for me, I don't have what he was asking for his car in mine. My car is not perfect but, its reliable and looks decent. That was the goal for my Duster...reliable...look decent. The goal for those guys was throw it together and go drive it and they achieved the goal.

My car was done by me and some helping hands when needed. Paint, body, Engine, trans, interior...all me.

Sure, mine is a 75 but, its an L code 360 car, seeing his price makes me think I should sell mine...lol

Your car does not have the “famous guy tv and hot rod editor tax” associated with it. Worth is determined by what someone will pay. And we already know someone payed, so it WAS worth what he was asking. Your car is much nicer though, well done.

Blasphemi participated in a lot of drag and drives which are incredible feats in terms of durability. Bunch of youtubes out there that car doing massive wheelies and driving hours to the next track ect. So while Roadkill is known for hacks and half assed work those guys do have skills to build stuff right when they choose too ...

Factory muffler hanger bracket on passengers side floor pan may provide evidence of dual exhaust.

Mine shows N41, but not certain it is the same for '75. Probably, but not certain. The engine code should be E58, something else to verify. Probably have to crawl under it and see if the factory hanger for the PS muffler is there if the code doesn't show on the fender tag, like @340sFastback mentioned.

Reason I ask is I used to think the E-58 HP 360 stopped after '74, but I have started doubting that recently. It looks like the dealership data books don't list the option for the E-58 motor for the A-Bodies in '75-76, but the engineering pages do and make reference to a high performance cam and dual exhaust, and for compact models only. There is also an E-58 motor available for non-compact cars that was an HD option, but not an HP option. It had a 4bbl, but single exhaust and no comment about the cam.

The weird thing (to me) is that in '75 catalytic converters were mandated, which would mean dual exhaust wasn't an option. Unless they had dual cat's and the floor wasn't modified for that. Which means in '75 (and '76) maybe they had a way around that somehow. That is if they truly offered a dual exhaust motor in those years.

Thus my question.

Edit - not trying to take anything away from your car. It's a beautiful car either way, and probably rarer than my '74.

So did the '79 LRT. By then, the E-58 option was more about durability and I bet it didn't have the 340 cam like the '74 E-58. But I could be wrong, there is a bunch of discussion about what cam the LRT had but no proof that I am aware of.

If there are '75-76 A-Bodies that came with dual exhaust from the factory, I would be willing to believe they had the hotter cam as well.

Not trying to prove anything here, just curious.

Pretty sure my car has E58 on the fender tag. Nope. The fuel tanks were not different for single or dual exhaust. There was year to year changes in venting and such but no dual exhaust or single exhaust tanks.
