Rebuilt the 727 in my dart and after roughly 500 miles
The The trans is slow to engage reverse after warmed up anyone got any ideas where to start note this was my first rebuild of a auto trans ,works great except the reverse issue. Thanks for any info

Will fllw this thread- I have the same prob with mine (but not recently rebuilt).
Thinking servo. However... when I start it in N or put it in N for a few seconds after she warms up- jumps right into Reverse
Remember reading something about this in a prior thread...

Found it. This is a thread about older tranny but may help you figure out your problem until somebody chimes in:

"They do that when they get old. Remember, apply pressure for Reverse is higher than apply pressure for the forward gears. By all means do basic service on the trans if it's been awhile (fluid, filter, band adjustments) but you can avoid having to think about it or spend money on it for quite a long time by just changing your cold-start technique: put the car in Neutral (not Park) as the first step. Then start up the car, fasten your seatbelt, turn on the radio, get ready to go, give the accelerator a kick to idle the engine down, and then shift to Reverse. You'll likely find it engages straightaway.
The difference between Park and Neutral is that in Park there's no fluid flow to the torque converter, so it's not filling up (having drained down overnight) until it's pulled out of Park. By shifting to Neutral first, you're filling up the torque converter so when you hit Reverse there's no shortage of fluid pressure available for application." -slantsixdan

You might want to keep in mind to chk the reverse servo next chance you have to get into it a bit.
It could be cracked, or have a nick in the lip seal.

First start, cold, I always start and idle the car a bit in neutral. Nowadays I use a GPS for a speedo, so when I back out from under the carport a few feet, it takes a bit for the GPS to figure things out.
