I want to run 15 x 7 cop car rallies on the front of my 1971 dart (stock front end with disk brakes) with 225/60 15 BFG Radial T/A's. The question is, will the standard backset of 4.5 in. work without any rubbing or clearance issues? I have seen some of these wheels with a different backset of 3 3/4 in. I think. What were these used for.

Cop car rim and 15x7 rallies actually have a 4.25 backspace.

None the less, 225/60/15 with cop car should work on your 71. They did on my 68 Dart and Barracuda. If you feel the need for a little extra room, move the bottom fender support brace out on it's adjustment.

OK. Thanks for the input. I guess I will go ahead and buy me some tires then. Were the 3.75 in. offsets used on later cars or what?

If they are 15x7 and factory they have 4.25" backspace. Never seen a 3.75 backspace factory 15x7 rims.

A lot of aftermarket rims are 3.75 backspace.

This is when I had 15x7 cop car rallyes on my 68 Cuda with 225/60/15 tires.
