I have a plan of installing a 1994 FI 5.2 magnum into a 1972 A body. I would like to use the factory computer and wiring system....is this possible?...what kind of problems will I run into...is there a better way to do this/ without going to a carb ????

Isn't that the older OBD1 system? If so, why not use the ODB2 system? The benefit is that it will give you a lot more flexibility with tuning.

I have wondered about this too. The obvious problem I see is that sensor on the bell housing if you keep your old trans, can you use the magnum flexplate and cut out a notch or something? Move it to the front of the engine? Is there an inline pump that will work instead of the one in the tank? Has someone come up with a simplified wiring diagram or do just have to figure it out? When did they switch to the ODB2 and what benefit is there if you have all the old stuff and just want it to run like a stocker? The truck I was going to use for the parts is a 92.

Use '96. Notch the bell (the block will show you where) and use the OEM CKP with either custom flywheel (with tone notches) or flex plate with tone ring (automatic). Fuel pump is up to you, and depends on return/retrunless system.

The first part I would consider using is the search function on this website because rehashing this every two weeks is getting old.

The key here is tunability, as friends don't let friends run a stock tune on any of their motors!"

Lol. I used the “search” feature and this subject has been over a lot. Lots of info on this wonderful site.
