fuel pump wire

I removed my fuel tank for replacement and noticed this. Should this yellow wire from the fuel pump be running through a hole somewhere into the trunk? It has been cut, but I do not see where the other end is located.

It looks to me like an old electric pump someone mounted at one time. If your car was running without the wire hooked up I'm assuming you have a mechanical pump on the motor and its pulling fuel through the electric pump.

I bought it as a roller and many parts were removed and all wires cut. I should be dropping my motor in within the next three weeks. I'll see if the manual pump pulls fuel through it.

If your not going to use it or don't need it, Id get rid of it. JMO.

I may just do that, but i was wanting to use it if it was operable.

I took the fuel pump off. I'll have to clean it up and bench test it in case I need it.
