Hello

I have mounted a new fuel sending unit, but the instrument doesn't show anything. I have also a new fuel level gauge, but nothing is working. Can the sender unit be completely wrong even though it is brand new?

We can help you out if you tell us what your working on (year, model, etc)?
It's possible that you don't have a good ground at the sender or maybe a bad voltage limiter
Could tell more with more info

How much fuel have you poured in ?
Where do you get a new gauge for a 72 model ?

cs 218 ,72-76 abody
new voltage limiter csvr1

40 literes

Link didn't go to any particular item. Description says limiter, not gauge.
Anyway... that limiter most also be grounded. Very little of the panel will work while it dangles from harness connectors unless you add a jumper to chassis ground.

Did you put the metal ground strap back on that goes from the sending unit to the metal fuel line over the rubber hose?

You need a good ground on your sending unit....

Unhook the wire at the sending unit and with the ignition switch on, ground the
Sender wire to a clean spot on the chassis. Gauge should go to full if it doesn't then
look at the ground and connections at the limiter and the circuit board.
Report back the results and we will go from there
