Gas Tank question

I have taken the tank out of my 74 Scamp and removed the sender.
I looked inside with a flashlight and it looks pretty good. No visible rust or foreign bodies. How should I clean out the tank....soap and water or some kind of chemical/acid wash??

If the factory coating looks OK, no rust dirt, why clean it with anything?

If there's any scale, it's usually on the top where it's unseen. I personally would throw a length of chain in it and agitate/shake it upside down to make sure you break anything loose that may be there. Then a good flush and you'll probably be good.
