Gaskets and bearing selection???

Are there any brands/materials to stay away from when looking for a rebuild kit/parts for my 440? the guy that will be putting the motor together says he can give me suggestions but he mainly puts together race cart (dirt) motors and I'm kinda looking for more than a couple races worth of life from it lol

It's all pretty much the same stuff nowadays for these old engines. I like Felpro sets but that's me.

they are about twice as high as they should be, but I really like Cometic head gaskets.
