GenIII Hemi swap into 65 Barracuda - 4x4 tranny to 2wd

I'm looking for a donor vehicle to transplant a GenIII hemi into my 1965 Barracuda.

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 in mind.

What will it take to convert a 4x4 tranny to 2wd only?
Is it as simple as removing the transfer case?
What else will I need?

More than likely you will need some sort of conversion tail housing, and possibly tail shaft. Oh and you will have to cut up the floor on your car.
 
You'll need a tailshaft from a car with that transmission and will have to modify the trans tunnel and maybe the trans mount or need a new mount , and drive shaft . A bit of surgery in the engine bay as well , then there is the wiring , quite a project .
 
Are tail shafts readily available from wreckers etc?

I have a line on a 2005 Ram 1500 with 5.7 Hemi and 5 speed auto (250,000 km). But it is 4x4. Rollover write off, only $1000.

Wondering if I should wait and find a 2wd truck.
