Get rid of points

-
I have done a ton of the pertonix I units no failures except bran new out of the box. Now the II and III not so much. Do like the 510 ignition boxes just like MSD but way better.
Did they or anyone ever come out with a 6 volt system? I don't remember if they had one or not.

I know it's not the question.. but i would keep the points.. keep a spare set in the glovebox and drive it 200k miles.. points work great.

That being said.. i have a pertronix unit in my car, it works fine and no extra wiring or anything (i do keep the old points dist in the trunk, just in case)
I run duel points on both my 340's and have no problem. The Ballast is the only problem I have once in a while. I keep an extra in the trunk as well as a Volt Regulator. Last year I change the points in one, after over 65,000 miles and they still look good. The rubbing block did show a little wear, so the trash they went. It does take me about an hour to set them right. I think that is the trick.
