Got the boys wrenching on the Dart today. Removed their first alternator and drained the radiator. Dart engine swap in under way. Can’t think of better little helpers. Happy Father’s Day all.

I bought a 360 for my dart an all the things to rebuild it. Been waiting 4 months in the garage for my 9 year old to ask me about it. Ive been asking him to help me build it and he showed no interest in it. I bought him a model kit about two weeks ago and since then ive bout two more. We were building them last night and out of the blue he said "dad when are we gonna build that real motor for you car". We're gonna start saturday.
I figured if he wasnt interested in real car he would be interested in models. Maybe this is what will get him started.Heres hoping for a couple more mopar nuts.

It gives me goosebumps.
Being able to spend quality time doing something you enjoy.
My son has an interest too, but wasnt really interested in hanging out with me. Now 26,final stretch to get his heavy duty mechanics ticket and working somewhat isolated and independently he is now starting to get it.
It made my day a few months back when he called and asked how to change ball joints without specialty tools. Something i had to figure out on my own.

I very proud my son has made such great progress in the last couple years.

I love it when my kids want to come out, my oldest doesn't come out anymore he's 7, but my almost 2 year old always want to come out to the garage when daddy is there. Hopefully he keeps wanting to come out and my oldest might come around but we shall see
