A couple weeks ago our beloved Memike sent me a box. Inside were a set of pretty old small block valve covers that he wasn't going to use, along with a nice note: "Take these and do anything you want to them. Just cleaning out the storage ..."

Well, here they are now Mike. They'll most likely be going on Bertha, our 83 daily driver D150 360 pickup.

I could have sworn I took some "before" pictures but sure can't find them now. Been a busy couple of weeks around here. This is Wilder Red over a base coat of Alien Silver.

Thank you for your wonderful gesture Mike! You're a terrific asset to FABO and to the world in general!!!!

Nothing like free car parts to really make a girl's day.

Hats off again to ya Mike! You know sometimes Mike speaks like he gets more help than he gives....we don't think so Mike, you seem to be doing pretty good on giving a hand to anyone who needs it:cheers:
Good job! Incase you didn't see Leanna, Mike helped me recently too!!

(sorry not trying to steal your thread there, just thought I'd spread the A body/Memike cheer!!)

Yep, memike is a great guy. His wife and him sent a diaper cake to my daughter last year when she had he baby. I have to say everything mike gets on here he has earned. Great guy to know for sure, and a great blessing to this site.

Wow!! Leanna I wish I had some before pictures,
They looked nasty and old. :tongue9:

I am so proud to hear they will be used
And I have to say they look incredible now.

Thanks everyone, I still say it is easy to give :drinkers:
and I learned how hard it is to receive
It makes me happy to help all I can when it come easy.:-D

I haven't been here in a while, busy working.

So how's that little Valiant doing MeMike?

Good thought memike. You knew exactly where to send those valve covers to give them new life. 8)

Those look absolutely super Leanna. Kinda like "REBORN" ;)

She is doing great 65s
I have put about 3.000 miles on her and has been turning heads and most every where I go I get to talk to some one about there old valiant they had.
I have updated the ignition to electronic and she burs like a kitten and drives like a new one.

It is in the restoration thread "Time to get started"

There are none NICER than Mike thats for sure. And Leanna the covers turned out awesome!! Im heading down to Florida either right b4 Christmas or right after and on my way Im planning on dropping of a number of things.

Leanna, from one coater to another, those look great. Isn't it nice to take something old and make spectacular again. That must be a translucent top coat? What vendor do you use most? Anyway we should talk sometime, as always, your stuff looks great.

They sure do look great..........

Over silver, it must be a Candy, correct? My Demon had Hummer Sunset Orange on it and looked very similar in the sunlight, but those things EXPLODE with color! :toothy10:

Wow! Nice job! That wilder red has caught my eye on more than one occasion while perusing your website.

As far as Mike being a good guy, it's par for the course. He's helped me out as well with some free Ramcharger parts. I don't think "good guy" even comes close, lol. :)

Badawg, thank you! It would be a Christmas present for me too, not only because I can really use the work, but because of having the opportunity to meet another FABOer. I'm looking forward to it!

_____

SmallBlock ... thanks for the kind words and the upcoming work. You're a doll!

_____

Boxer, you're right about the transformation being all the fun! Thank you VERY MUCH for the compliment; it's truly special when it comes from someone in this same line of work. I'd love to talk with you any time you're ready. (In fact, I referred someone to you last week who needed a part done that wouldn't fit in my oven. LOL)

The Wilder Red is, in fact, a translucent candy topcoat. Those powders are so versatile ... no matter what substrate / base coat you use them on, the results look terrific and no two are ever alike. I prefer Prismatic Powders out of Oregon.

_____

PastorTom ... thank you too.

I found out yesterday that I'm getting a NEW CAMERA for my birthday (woooooooooooooooooooo finalllllly! :-D) so I might actually be able to do this stuff some justice in pictures. Believe you me, it will be the joy of joys to smash that 2.3 megapixel POS I've been using for the last few years into a zillion microscopic pieces. Explode with color? You just wait! LOL

_____

And last but certainly not least (my first ever FABO customer whom I hold very dear to my heart muahhhhh), Ramcharger Joe ... thank you. Without your confidence in my abilities and your fabulous write ups back in December, none of this would have happened. I've told you that before privately and I'm telling you again now. :-D

I love ya all, and thank you for the inspiration to keep doing what I do around here.
FABO isn't just "some website." It's my second home. :love7:
