Good sock's ?

Any good sock preferences? I bought a couple of pairs of Railroad name brand a year ago at a flea market and they were the best socks I ever wore but I can't find any more, anywhere. Is there a brand you can recommend? I am looking for black, crew with thick heel and ones that don't unravel.

5.11 socks are awesome, pricey but awesome. I got a few pairs for free with some boots I ordered and they are still rocking strong 2 years later, most comfortable socks I've ever wore.

Bridgedale and Smartwool are my go-to socks for when I'm doing more than just walking around. I don't know if Bridgedale or Smartwool does a black crew sock, though. The Bridgedale Endurance Trekkers I have on now---it's gig night---are green.

I never thought I'd have a preference in socks, but they really do make a huge difference.

I buy Redhead socks from Bass Pro. They are $10 a pair, but have a LIFETIME guarantee. Hole in them? Just take them back!
