Last night, my close friend Gene Nagy had me get into his 2019 Dodge Dart top sportsman car. First pass car started to get out of the groove and push left so I lifted. I had a 1.04 60’ and 3.06 at the 330 before I had to bail. Next pass, right down broadway. 1.04 60’, 3.05 330’ and 4.72 at 146.25 MPH. Baddest ride I’ve ever felt. God was with me at the top end as I hit the brakes a little hard in shutdown area and hit some bumps and the car started bouncing and going left then right, luckily I was able to keep it off the wall and the car nor I was hurt. Thank God. Lesson learned about that monster tire car and the brakes.

Car is naturally aspirated 622” wedge 600-13x heads. Indy tunnel ram with 2 bob book dominators. 16.0:1 compression, 8 counterweight shaft, Carrillo rods, dry sump oil system. Bowman Performance built engine. Full tube chassis car built by Gene himself. Bruno Lenco transmission with abruzzi converter. Naturally aspirated. This thing is the REAL DEAL.

I’ve helped and watched Gene race since I got into racing years ago. In 2015 when we were finishing my demon, Gene took me under his wing back then and taught me how to tune me 4 link. He fabricated my wheelie bars, parachute, later on my starting line enhancer throttle, anti roll bar, rocker bar. He is 71 and just had a knee replacement this spring and needs another knee replacement. He wanted me to get in the car and boy was it one hell of a ride. Can’t thank him and my team enough for all they do. Gene, my dad, uncle Booy, Tim and Keith bowman, Karen bowman, Danny Rodgers. It sure takes a lot to get these cars down the track and working. I barely slept cause I was so excited about going that fast.

Going so fast you wanted to make sure that you would stop.:steering:
lol you got that right. I was so tickled I was able to get a full pass, I stayed in it a little too long then hit brakes little too hard after the 1/4 and the shutdown goes uphill and has bumps. Driver error. Won’t happen again

Holy **** RJ, that car goes bye bye real fast.
I'm glad your skills and big man got you through it safe...hell maybe you're going to have to be a full time driver for gene in the meantime.
You're a good drag racer buddy.

I'm glad you had fun, and equally glad I have no friends who would offer to let me drive a car that fast, because I'm happy with my little 10.0 bracket car and don't want to go any faster, but if I did it would probably be like a drug!

I have a friend building a solid-block hemi avenger with a procharger. I wanna watch, but have ZERO desire to get behind the wheel! I don't even wanna drive his 1200 hp street car!
(The avenger was also a solid 4 sec car with a mild 632 chevy and some squeeze)

I just lost all enthusiasm for my 11.80's Duster.

Just kiddin'! That is AWESOME!

I'm 66. When I was younger, I thought it would be a great experience to drive something that fast. Never happened. Now, just watching something that fast scares me!

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I can’t tell watching it on my phone; did you pull the parachutes?

Couldn't have picked a better driver to test the car! Thanks for sharing. That's a good running wedge motor. I wonder if the brake bias is 'perfect' or needs a tweek!? Carbon rear brakes? That's one thing I'm looking forward to if they move our class to 660ft...not pulling the chute and repacking lol!

Well thanks Sean much appreciated man! Ya it’s one hell of an engine.

The brakes definitely are biased to the rear which Tim had mentioned to me today and I didn’t even think about it when I was running the car. I believe they are strange rear brake setup but not sure if they are carbon or not. I’ll have to ask and get back to you. And yes not having to re pack the chute would be nice for you if you go 660 instead of 1320.
