Good deal. We have a 94 Grand Cherokee. Its been a great truck.

This 4.0 move's this jeep so easy.
I am so happy with decision It reminds me of my 71 comando jeepster.
It has rear main leak that I can put up with for now,212.300 mile's.

Hey Mike,
The rear main seals are fairly easy to change out. I did mine on my 89 Cherokee. It is a 2 piece seal, so you simply need to tap the top of the seal around the crankshaft, and then tap the new one in. Believe it or not, the most difficult part is cleaning the factory gasket material off the block and oil pan...This is VERY common in older 4.0's. My XJ had a 7 inch lift with 35's when I sold it. It now lives in Moab.

One of the best places for information on these is:

If you need specific instructions, let me know...

Thanks,

Hay thank's Clint,I may do that.
I shut thing's down here and went to bed and could not sleep. :-|
I got back up and here I am.
We are a two jeep family now.
My wife's 4x4 grand and now my 2 wheel drive Cherokee. :toothy7:

Good luck on the new ride Mike! I got a Cherokee to use when my 97 Dakota was in the shop for some warranty work and that little 4.0 HO has some suprising power, even at high altitude 5200 to 8000+ ft. As I recall, it wasn't too bad on gas either. I take it you didn't buy the ram.

Way to go Mike. Now you're in my territory. I have 2 Cherokees, an 87 4x4 with the 4.0L that the daughter has driven ....gently..... for the past 4 years. I paid $1000 CDN bucks for that thing 6 years ago, and with approx. 428,000 KM it's still running strong. I replaced the rear main seal in it about 3 years ago, and since then you throw in a Litre of oil about once a month and away you go.
My daily driver is a 93 Cherokee 4x4 with the 4.0L HO engine with 331,000Km on it, that I've had on the highways, byways and fields for the past 4 years with absolutely no problems. Tires, battery, brakes, 1 water pump, and that's it.
The wife has a 94 Grand Cherokee AWD with the 5.2L and 187,000Km on it. This thing still looks like the day it came off the lot, and runs like a raped ape.
Have you noticed I like my Jeeps?? Change that rear seal and give 'er hell! :)

Congrats. You can't go wrong with a Jeep. I sold my 97 Grand Cherokee Limited a couple of years ago with over 250k miles, still looked and ran good. The people that bought it are still driving it and loving it.
My wife drives a 02 Liberty Limited. It has been trouble free for the last 92k miles.
My brother is on his second Cherokee, and wouldn't drive anything but a Jeep.

:wav: I drove it to dr. apointment and pick up an oil change air filter and fuses,
To dagum cold out there today and very windy.
This jeep will do great for me and it sure feel's good to have my own.
This is the first 2 door 4.0 2 wheel drive I have ever drove,
I am 5'7 and it fit's me well.Trans feel's real good no blow by on the 4.0.
Thank's you guy's for the time you have spent with me shopping.
It has the crome rear bumper and there has never been a hitch on it!!
I will change that shortly. This is my wife's jeep 97 with 165000 miles.
Mopar has always been good me.
