I got'er home and slapped it together today. Runs fine just have a few issues to figure out. It sat for about 8 years in a garage so you can imagine  I will put the new fram under it probably next month. With the 304 it runs hard for a jeep.

yea, the frame is a weak point on the cj5, especialy pre 75. they were prone to cracking the frame at the spring perches.....also check your lower spring plates, where the shocks connect. they usualy break the shock studs off due to fatigue, if there rusty. also check the frame around the steering box for cracks.i would also buy or fabricate a frame brace that goes between the rails up front to suport it from flexing back and forth due to steering loads.

I'm gonna limp this frame for a little while. I got a custom fab frame with the Jeep so I'll make the change sometime soon. I want to get a plan together first. I'll probably get all new brake lines and fuel lines etc. It's pretty rusty under there. I should really even drive it the frame in the rear is BAD! Oh well, I like to live on the edge of uncomfortable.
