If not, there's something wrong with the gps, likely a fuse as stated above or a bad power cord...

If it's "mini USB" you might have another device that fits it. As above, many of those 12V plugs have fuses.....unscrew the end "thingie." Also, sometimes, the plastic to metal lashup just "doesn't like" some lighter sockets
