i have been doing lots of vintage style Grand Prix racing posters over the past few months. Some are reworks, some are re-imaginations and some are completely original.

I just thought I would share the collection so far...

Thanks! I spend a few hours each day doing my art and these kind of posters are one of those that I really enjoy doing. Besides being fun from an artistic challenge perspective, I also really enjoy the subject matter. I can ‘feel’ the images as I work on them and it makes me feel alive.

You’re a talented man Ddaddy!! I always enjoy the posts that include your work!

Love it.

We have some stuff in that style on a wall in our shop. Thats a good era and look.

If you were selling those, I would have a really difficult time deciding which one I liked best. Everyone of those is great.

Awesome. A fantastic racing event and Formula One has been something I've followed since I was a kid. Unfortunately it isn't quite the same anymore. You're a fantastic artist. The McLaren Can Am car is pretty sweet. That was the chassis Bruce McLaren died in.

Like to see your process of making these, anything about this on youtube
Nothing on YouTube that I have done. I do them all in Photoshop, drawn by hand using just a mouse as the brush. Each one takes about 3-4 hours and I go through at least a half dozen versions before I get to the final product.

I have to let a lot of them sit for a few days before I come back to them since I sometimes get artist’s block and have to settle down to keep from going down the rabbit hole of just changing things because I can. Sometimes sleeping on it and looking with fresh eyes helps me see what needs to really be changed or improved.

Art is my passion...and my stress relief from the daily grind of the Pharmaceutical business.

I decided to do some vintage style Can Am race posters over the Christmas break. All original, but consistent with the competition schedule and poster style of the era.

Just thought I’d share...
