I was in need of a good desk organizer to clean up my desk. So I looked on ebay and only found the standard type of made in china type organizers which are a good idea at first but will later be garage sale items.

Then I had an epiphany hit me like a hood slamming down on my head while doing a tune up :???:

I came up with the idea to use a tool box. I have this one in new condition and has not been outside yet. And it works great, totally screams car person and holds anything and everything.

Magazines, gel pens, documents, make up, tape, stapler, cds, external hard drives, battery chargers, and on and on. I thought to myself......why didn't I think of this long time ago :D really cleaned up the desk too. They usually go on sale pretty cheap now closer to Christmas too :)

That reminds me of a funny story from long ago....

I better not post it though, some may not think it was as funny as we did at the time.... :protest:

But great Idea on the tool box!!!! :farao:

And you can carry it with you if you ever have the need... :burnout:

Very clever... :D

Not trying to be contrary, but, If you're "organized", your desk should have your desk top, lap top, or tablet, a phone, a lamp, a pad of paper, and a pen/pencil, and not much else. ;)

Lol! I've been doing that for years......... I have several vintage Craftsman tool boxes from the 30s to the 60s that I find cheap, clean and repair them, treat any rust and clear coat to preserve the patina then sand to dull as necessary to keep the original appearance They are used around to organize all sorts of stuff my daughter has one for art supplies. They work great for storage and organization and it allows me to collect them without the wife realizing it. I pulled one out when she said she was tired of the plastic containers cracking and breaking. She wanting something different and would hold up longer. Took convincing about the patina part. Told her it's unique , adds character, it looks vintage and rustic. It worked and now she likes it. Here is one that my wife and daughter use to Store electronic stuff such as phone and device chargers, cables, spare phone cases, iPad cases, and screen protectors etc..... Makes it easy for the Ladies to switch cases like they do as the mood or outfits change I guess. I only buy one case to protect my phone though and use the cable that comes in the box. I don't need to accessorize....
