69 barracuda, factory brass radiator, updated water pump. Block's been hot tanked, can I use universal yellow coolant or do I have to stick with green?

The reason I ask is the yellow is quite a bit cheaper than the green.

I guess I should be more specific. Will the universal yellow hurt anything?
In my experience and based on the chemistry, Yes.

The universal uses a hybrid organic acid technology to resist corrossion. It's slow to act and generally inapproriate for 'open' cooling systems. Furthermore even at best, it provides less protection for solder and copper.

Radiators and heater cores are too expensive these days to consider expendable.

Buy a 1 gallon jug of green 100% sub $20.00

Buy a 1 gallon bottle of distilled or deionized water. Sub $2.00

Mix the 2 and you have 2 gallons of 50/50 coolant and water.

The ready to use is stupid expensive
