Hey there!
I thought I'd pop in and say hello. I almost bought a 1973 Valiant a year ago, but decided against it for various reasons. Yesterday however I bought a 1965 Valiant with manual transmission and the 170 cui engine, a literal barn find. The car was sold in my local area in 1965, the second owner is the current owner's father, who bought it at age nineteen. It was put away in the barn in 1992 and hasn't run since.
It seems to have faired pretty well and is in all original condition, except a missing distributor cap. From what I could see it's completely rust free underneath, but there's significant rust in the lower parts of the doors, some rust in the fenders, and some rust where the fenders are bolted to the wheel hoses under the hood. The engine might be seized, but I'm not too worried about that, it ran in 1992 and probably just needs some TLC.
The interior looked surprisingly good.
