Not sure where to post this. I ran into Mr. Long at Indianapolis Raceway Park a couple weeks ago, and he said that he purchased all of Griner’s rights and he’s building and servicing Griner Valve bodies.

He (Griner) used to sell his vavle reverse valve bodies and brakes to places like A&A and Cope. His last name was Griner was i think the 1st to have band appy in a reverse pattern
I looked it up. They're carved billet. So bling for inside a transmission where it'll never be seen.

Grinder had a complete line. Cope in some of his YouTube makes fun of him. States every now and then would mess one up as would not have check balls in them (missing one)

Well, we all know Cope is perfect and never makes a mistake. I don't know. A polished billet valve body seems a bit much. It's like "Look at my beautiful valve body.......oh wait, you caint" LOL But hey, that's what makes the world go around and it's a Mopar part that I'm glad is available. We need all we can get.

Griner is/was 1 of the BEST trans brakes out there. Keith helped him as he was getting older. Keith has it down pat and is 1 of the top tb guys in the country. I have used Griner brakes for years and they always bring top dollar if you find 1 for sale. Keith is a pleasure to talk to and he is easy to understand when it comes to tb's.

But Cope was making fun of um. Classy.

John Cope is also very knowledgeable with transmissions, as is Rick Allison. I have been helped by both Cope and Allison in the past. Especially at Monster Mopar in Madison, Il when it was still under Scott Sieveking. I had a problem with a Griner tb and called him and told him what it was doing, and he told me to send it over and he would look at it. 2 weeks later he sent it back, repaired and shipped at No Charge. Couldn't ask for more than that. If I was still racing and needed a brake, I would look to Keith for 1 of his.

The avatar has a Griner valve body. RMVB with low band apply, no brake. It was purchased through Cope in about 2004 (go figure!). Works very well for me.

If you look in the lower left of the pic, you'll see his logo on the valve body. And no i don't use the brass screen filters. This was just on the trans when I bought it from the PO.

Edit: uploaded pic quality is quite degraded. Orig pic is very clear. Not sure why they degrade so much when uploaded.

Sorry,,,I wasn’t downing Cope,,,,just trying explain the ribbing going on sometimes .
Cope is an excellent transmission man .

But so was Griner,,,and if something was wrong with the Griner VB,,,,then it just needed a little attention and I’m sure it was good as new .

I have no qualms with Cope. I've seen a lot of people refer to his attitude, but I cannot speak to that, as I wrote a chapter in that book.

Like I said earlier, I'm glad these guys make this stuff. I was ribbin at the fact that they're real purdy and then gonna get covered up and hid. lol

I never had any problems with John and he was always helpful and nice. I have a wish list of stuff.
I need to call him or Chris Andrew's for some parts. I will haven't even seen my yearly home owners or flood insurance yet. Or tax on my home yet after I know what i have to spend on extra stuff.

Yeah. I have a wish list too. But like Mama always said. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. I'll never be able to afford that kinda stuff, but I'm glad it's there so somebody can.
