Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

Nice.

Which optic did you go with?
Holosun 509T. I like enclosed emitters and have had good luck with this model. The other one went 120k or so on a 9mm 2011 before the dot went intermittent. The replaced it in four days a new one. Better than any of my RMRs ever did.

Nice

Let us know how it works out.

I am dragging my feet with regard to enclosed emitters. As mine fail I will replace!

Thought you Boys might like the pix, during night work one of the guys was rocking the new hip and cool compensator on a EDC. We were trying to capture the serious flash as a result, did not help the shooters ability to engage targets at night. He switched guns. These were all pretty serious practitioners so most all brought multiple pieces of equipment to experiment with. Thanks @WV64Signet (you know why)

I carried Mag Na Ported guns at work in the past and always worked nights. Trained at night. Never saw an issue. Looks wild to spectators but not when I was shooting duty ammo. Good service ammo has flash retardant powder in it.

I only went to them once I started working dogs because it helped shooting one handed while holding the lead of Maligator….also dropped from 45 to 9mm.

Agreed, shooter did not have a quality rig.
Pix of my maligator tolerating new Shepard pup this morning. It typically ends horribly with Shepard pup on back, Mal on top with jaws around throat of pup.

Had a visitor today at the range today, FABO legend @lkopaska, him and his bride hung out for the day so we fed them as well. One of his buddies back home built an AR for him. He was new to the platform. We tore it apart, mounted sling and sights, sighted it in. All good. We may have sampled some yummy whiskey as well. Yellowstone and RabbitHole.

Looks like Ronnie Barrett is expanding his facility
Makes ya want to move to Tennessee don’t it? I would love to just sweep the floor of that place for the employee discount! They have earned it for sure. Quality product, battle tested. They just keep on advancing technology very quietly. Looks like the new digs are very close to the existing so that is a logistics win for sure. I am a fan.

I scored a classic 870 wingmaster yesterday for just under 300 bucks. Deals are still out there boys! The recoil pad needs replaced but other than that it is solid. I am considering replacing the stock but not entirely sure I want to? When I get out to the shop today I will get a pix. The furniture is vintage and well worn. It is destined for a grandson, me personally I think the 870 is the 350 Chevy of the pump shotgun genre.

That’s a nice score. I passed up a 20 gauge 870 WingMaster last week that went for just over $400. Nice gun but…..

Thank you. I have a 1918 12 gauge iver Johnson i "restored" (I use that very loosely lol) ill have to find the pics it turned out beautiful. I wish I had the before pics but unfortunately I didn't take any.
12 Gauge Iver Johnson? I had one of those as a teenager back (way back) in the day. It was given to me by a judge my mom worked for and I missed the most beautiful 10 pt. buck I have ever seen with that shotgun. He stood broadside, staring at me as I reloaded and got another shot off at him. Shortly after that Uncle Sam called and I was off to Southeast Asia. My brother, who was more the gun guy, (I was busy playing with hot rods), decided it might be smart to see where it shot on a target. At 25 yds, it was 2 feet high, or two feet low, whichever it decided at the moment. It was just plain worn out.
