Had to look that one up. Yikes!Plot twist.
About 330 000 of the Austrian 1849's were imported in the early part of the U.S. Civil War (mostly Western theater). BUT they were modified to percussion cap and had a ramrod channel added.
.713 caliber
Not Brown Bess, but pretty substantial

That doesn't look like a musket.Bought myself a old-school rifle.

My memory may be inaccurate but I remember some kind of issue with the CETME mags vs the HK?It's mid 60's Spanish CETME. About 1200 were imported from about 65-68. This is the rifle HK bought the rights too, changed a couple thing
and became the G3/HK91. It was imported before zip-codes.

Ok that’s cool, just like that I learned something today! I have never heard of that breed and I like to think I am pretty farm dog savvy! We need a pix of her working!Since this is a post for dogs as well, I’ll share our recently acquired puppy. She’s known as a Carolina dog. I’ve attached to link that describes their characteristics. I’ve never had this breed before, but she has turned out to be a fantastic dog with all of the traits listed in the AKC website. She is very high energy, it’s a good thing we have 5+ acres for her to run around on. She’s already bonded with our horses and part of her normal routine is going around the property and making sure that everyone and everything is OK, lol. I’ve never known anyone to have this breed before, any other Carolina dog owners on the forum?

Alas, I withhold comment so I don’t draw undue attention to this thread but I 100% agree with this post.
And I do so appreciate it! We have now survived 150 some odd pages and multiple years by all of us including myself staying out of political conversations on here. That is just outstanding. Given our passion for all things 2A, and the two topics overlap in a multitude of ways. Kudos to this group for not getting us kicked into the NnP thread! Yea team Gun Dogs!Alas, I withhold comment so I don’t draw undue attention to this thread but I 100% agree with this post.
First pick is of her out in our pasture, looking for rabbits. The second picture is her keeping my one of my nosy horses from rummaging through my side-by-side.Ok that’s cool, just like that I learned something today!
