Had anyone had trouble removing a throttle cable sleeve

I can’t seem to get the throttle cable sleeve out has anyone had trouble getting this out

Pinch the 2 little ears on the sides in and push it out

i think they are on the top and bottom as i just removed one from the truck i junked out this afternoon. and you really have to squeeze hard to get them to go together.
