I have been slowly tearing into this car and while searching for my turn signal flasher, I noticed there are several plugs that do not have anything attached to them. These are just a few, but I will take it a step at a time :p. Can anyone please help in identifying them? The car is a 1970 Dart.

This one is just behind and to the left of the radio:

And these two were in front of the heater box on the passenger's side under the dash

This relay was in the glove box and looks like it goes on the end of the black plug in the above picture, but what does it do? A part number search didn't help me.

All of this and still no turn signal flasher! Where is it usually mounted in these cars? I found the hazard flasher, and it works fine, but nothing for the turn signals.

Thanks in advance!

Believe I just found the "relay" to be the ignition buzzer. If this is incorrect, please smack me and tell my what it is :p

You have a shop manual?

You can download a complete factory 70 Plymouth (use Valiant diagrams) from MyMopar:

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=109

The link:

or a "Dart Challenger" manual thanks to AbodyJoe

Forgot to add the diagrams from "MyMopar" Sometimes easier to follow, sometimes incomplete

What colors are the 2 conductor connector you have in your hand?

Dark/ Light green? Blower switch

Does the 3 wire connector fit the buzzer?

Look on page 8-106 of the Dart/ Challenger manual, shows location of the key buzzer.

Thanks! I was going to ask for wiring schematics but thought it'd be too much asking in one post :D

...and give me one moment to check those wires. No, the motor doesn't kick on. The heater box does, though, have wires going into the top of it...lemme go snap a picture.

Wires are brown and green

And these are the plugs going into the box. Are those in charge of the blower motor? All fuses on the DS are in good condition, as well.

one of those plugs probably go to the blower motor. From what I see brown wire low speed heater blower motor resistor and dark green hi speed. Turn signal flasher is an L plug with black and red wires going to it. manual says turn signal and hazard flasher units are mounted seperately to the right or left of steering colum (dependent on prod date) attached to a bracket on inner edge of instrument pannel.

Bottom photo under the insulation is the blower motor resistor, makes the low/ med speed.

Interesting, so then where does that brown and dark green plug go? Sure isn't like a new car trying to figure out where this stuff goes! That manual is great, by the way, thanks again. And knowing the colors of the turn signal flasher will help me find it. I already found the hazard flasher on the left side of the steering column.

You guys rock!

the plug in second pic with the 2 side by side and one on top is the kind of plug for horn relay, ac/blower mtr switch, rear window defog switch, but none of the wire colors match. I suck at electrical, even with the book in front of me.

Found the flasher, woohoo! ...it was behind the glovebox :p I'm trying to find a bit more of an involved under dash wiring schematic so that I can try to identify more of these plugs and wires. Any ideas on a spot? I don't even know if alldata goes back this far :p

Here is a better shot of the first picture posted to show the wire colors.

Gotta get the test light out to see how many of these wires even have juice...I'm suspecting the turn signal issue to be at the lever since fuses are good, connections are solid and flasher is functional.

Look on page 8-100 of the Dart/ Challenger manual I posted. That appears to be hooked in with the map light/ delay relay

On page 8-98, it's just above the bulhead connector diagram, and to the right of the flasher "Accessory lamp and time delay"

Wow, I completely over looked that :/. Sorry for the stupid question, then. And it appears that the blower motor does work, though high speed doesn't work atm, mid and low kick on. Nice!
