Harbor Freight sandblasting cabinet...

Sorry, not gun kit. Bought this valve off eBay and still using original gun. Could probably get the parts at the store cheaper but was in a tank to get mine going

I modded mine just like that and it didn't work worth a flying feck. I've had it that way now for several years and nothing I could do to it would make it work right. I'm in the middle of putting it back like it was. I remember talking to Leanna (RIP) about that mod and she thought I was crazy. She said she never had to do anything like that and thought it was snake oil.

Mine works ok now

Haven't read all the posts so someone else may have mentioned this.... I have added four mounting posts inside the cabinet and I stretch metal screen mesh over those posts.... Most of the blast media hits the screen before getting to the glass & that slows the media & takes away it's energy...My cabinet uses tempered glass, I have pieces of thin regular glass that I mount between the tempered glass and the screen... Tempered glass is $$$.. Thin regular glass is pretty cheap and with the screen in place it lasts a very long time...

Humidity is a huge factor.
Excellent point. And many people overlook the quality of the air coming in. Your air needs to be CLEAN and DRY, and you need enough of it. If your compressor can't keep up with the CFM requirements of your cabinet, your blasting experience will be dismal.

I modded mine with the metering valve using fittings from HD. I run about 2 cups of media in it and throw it out every 20 minutes or so. It works great but it is dry here. The stock siphon set-up would plug so much it was unusable.

Mine is bigger 23 x 61 (glass size) i used a old storm door my mom had, doesn't need to be that big but it was free, seems to be a odd size, as i have seen a few "free" ones people are throwing out but wrong size. So i try to cover it
