Hard water deposits on rad??

I've got hard water white spots on my alum. radiator,I've tried a few things to remove with no luck anyone have a secret concoction???

try vinegar-may take some rubbing- try soaking a paper towel to leave on it. it is a mild acid- the hard water should be a base..... cheap and won't damage anything- flush with water
 
been there tried that,didn't work thanks Steve
 
I don't know whether it will work, or not. Look into a product called CLR, which stands for Calcium, Lime, and Rust remover. As I said. I don't know whether or not it will harm the aluminum.
 
Is it polished? if so you might try california deoxidizer(a mild acid), followed by california polish, this stuff is from just across the river from me, but I guess no one would buy Nebraska polish.
 
maybe try a household cleaner called Awesome. It is really cheap and I used it on an aluminum intake and cleaned gas stains really well, Joe
