So, for an internally balanced 1966 273 V-8, what brand harmonic balancer is everyone using? Just need one that has the timing mark on the correct side and looks enough like the original to pass once everything is painted red and installed in the engine bay. Many of the ones i find on Classic Ind. or BHJ, or the like look strikingly different from the original and are race ones (SFI 18.1 Cert). Having the rotating assembly balanced as I got new pistons, so want to make this choice early and probably should not change it once the balancing is done, even though it IS internally balanced. I don't think I have any reason to need the more expensive SFI certified balancer.

So, what are you guys doing for yours?

no need to stray from OE style with that type of build.

the problem is going to be finding a unit that's marked correctly for the pass side timing and your stock asymmetrical pulley pattern.

moparmall does remans, so there's an option.

i used a professional products unit on my last build, and nobody was the wiser.

Yeah, I was thinking reman and typed OE.

The reman will suit the OP just dandy.
