Has anybody seen this "conversion"?

yeah, do a search for scarebird and you'll find all sorts of info.

At least one person on this site has it, and as I recall, the feedback was good. I think it uses readily available GM calipers and such to keep costs down.

I used a Scarebird conversion on my Scamp and it's been great for 3 years now. And when I eventually need new pads, it won't be difficult to find them. Only embarassing to ask for the Cavalier pads..lol

You'd think the could have come up with a better name for a company that deals is brakes.:-D

Thats good to know in case I run into another drum brake car.

My Valiant is drum brake but I got a steal off CL. I bought a complete front end with all new busihing installed, new rotors in the box, and all new bearings and seal for the low price of 300 bucks!

The guy knew what he had but he got all this stuff togther and decided not to build the car.
