I've done a few searches here and on the regular internet and there's not alot of info on replacing the inner rocker (there's alot of info on the outer rocker). Does anyone know of a weblink to a video, or a thread on how to go about this?

My Demon needs a new inner and outer rocker before I can do the rest of the structural work and I'm working on planning the best way to do this before I start hacking.

Hey Tom,

Before you start, Here's a link to a guy in my hometown who is a metal genius.

Fitzee has a great way of explaining how to do sheet metal repairs in an easy to follow manner very inexpensively using common tools.

Worth every minute of watching his videos if you are doing structural repairs.

This guy is followed by people all over the world for his common sense approach.

Cheers!!

Same concept.. Just bigger Mopar

Thanks for the video. I watched it and got hooked on his videos, because my Demon is in similar shape. I did look at some other panel replacement videos from another guy, but this other guy had $50,000,000 in body work tools (spot welders, drum sanders, jigs, hole punchers, panel stretchers, etc.), so his videos just weren't practical for the average bear to watch. But these videos in the link you sent are more for the shade-tree body guy like me.

The one video above shows the guy removing the inner and outer panels as one unit and then installing the outer first, then the inner, and then the end cap. But if someone was replacing both the outer and inner, wouldn't it be easier to buy a used one that is already one unit (outer/inner/front end cap) and install it all in one shot? Then I think it would lessen the danger of misalignments, and make everything more accurate. I know the back end of the inner & outer is sandwiched between other panels, but they can carefully be seperated and then re-sandwiched/ spot welded.

Yeah. @Oldmanmopar has replaced every single panel on these cars probably hundreds of times. I tagged him so maybe he will chime in and give you some wisdom.

68 Coronet Station Wagon passenger side rear. I made the patch panels and welded them in place with no experience. It can be done.

I also replaced the inner and outer rockers on the driver side. Once you remove the outer the inner is simple bracing that again I made from scratch.

Do you have any pictures of the panel replacement on the other side?

Thanls Mtrhead. It was very surprising to me how simple these cars are constructed. They are engineering feats but the sheet metal is all just spot welds. As for making the patch panels, I watched a few internet videos and practiced using 18ga. cold rolled. My welding improved as I went along too.
