How long does it take to swap heads?

I'm going to replace the stock cylinder heads with Edlebrock performer heads and need an idea of how long it's going to take.

In what?do you have a shop?air tools?hand tools in the driveway?Takes me about 4/5 hours all done, everything clean with no problems.Do you have ARP bolts?washers?lots of variables, not hard but involved. You'll need a field service manual/chiltons/procedure for torque values and sequences.

I can do it in less than 4 hours but I'm gettin slow cause it just doesn't matter anymore. LOL
A new guy could take all day. A "Pro" that makes money on this could whip it out in under 3 hours at his shop.

depends on how much beer you have. Also depends on ac or not and mech or hyd. pushrods.time to adjust.

leave yourself all afternoon and take your time
intake gaskets, exhaust gaskets, head gaskets, valve cover gaskets,
and a good torque wrench

Like everyone said, take your time, slow and steady wins the race.

YES, A GOOD torque wrench is a must! You do not wanna crack anything! Head Bolts and Head studs require different torque amounts also

I don't know if Edelbrock supplies washers for bolts or studs, but use a hardened washer between aluminum head and nut/head.
